Electronics company Samsung Electronics Co. of South Korea is expected to launch new foldable smartphone models next month, at lower prices than older models.
Samsung will start selling the Galaxy Z Fold3 for about 1.99 million won ($1,744), down 17% from the previous model’s 2.39 million won selling price.
The price of the Galaxy Z Flip3 phone model is expected to decrease by about 22% compared to the old model, at 1.28 million won.
Samsung launches new foldable smartphone models as it tries to increase sales of this model and gain price advantages as its main rival, Apple Inc. It is also expected to launch new phone models this year.
Samsung is expected to announce plans to launch the two new phones mentioned above along with accessories on August 11. Meanwhile, Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone smartphone model in September.
